Chattanooga is such a great spot for an elopement if you are wanting to stay in a city while being close to nature. However, it can be overwhelming trying to narrow down the best spots and plan a timeline that makes sense. The last thing you want on your elopement day is spending hours driving because you didn’t have the best plan. Don’t worry, that’s where I come in. I know the best spots, and help you plan to create the perfect day that maximizes your time celebrating!

Eloping in Chattanooga – Lodging

There are great airbnb’s in downtown Chattanooga so you can be a part of the action, or nearby in the mountains with incredible views. There are unique and eclectic stays if you are looking for cool art and a fun backdrop for getting ready photos. Or there are home cabins in the mountains. Whatever you are looking for, Chattanooga has the perfect option for you!

If you are looking for a quiet stay, look into stays in the Lookout Mountain area. This area is a short drive to town but far enough out that you can soak in the mountain views. It is known for its modern homes and quaint cabins. Even though you are out of the city, there is a lot to see and do in this area. There are plenty of hikes like Anna Ruby Falls and Lookout Mountain to explore nature.

If you are wanting to be within walking distance of great restaurants and breweries, look into downtown. There are great houses and apartments downtown that offer great views of the river and are in close proximity to all the action. The Riverfront and City Center are two of my favorite spots to stay. They are close to the river, aquarium, and arts district.

Chattanooga Elopement Lodging Tips!

When picking your lodging- I always recommend reaching out to the host before booking. Make sure they are ok with having a photographer on the property and any potential guests you may be wanting to host. This may include family, friends, hair and makeup artists, caterers, or a chef. If you are thinking of using your airbnb as a potential backup for your ceremony in case of rain, make sure you let them know asap!

Chattanooga Elopement Locations

Whether you are looking to stay in Chattanooga for a city elopement or branch out into the mountains, there are endless possibilities for you!

If you are wanting to elope in Chattanooga, look into local chapels, venues, rent a boat on the river, or elope on the river walkway! These are all great ways to incorporate nature while staying local in the city.

If you are looking for more of an adventure, branch out into the surrounding areas!

Cloudland Canyon State Park

One of the most popular Chattanooga elopement spots is Cloudland Canyon. This is actually just over the border in Georgia about 30 minutes from Chattanooga. Cloudland Canyon is a beautiful state park with mountain overlooks and waterfalls making it the perfect place for an adventure elopement.

If you are wanting a waterfall elopement, it is best here in the spring as the waterfalls can dry up later on in the year. It is a great spot for year round mountain views!

Lookout Mountain

This is a great spot on the Tennessee and North Georgia line. It is also a quick drive from downtown Chattanooga. This makes it a great spot for exploring the city while getting into nature. There are various trails leading to different view points overlooking the mountains and Tennessee River. There are some great spots for sunset elopements here.

TN State Parks

There are great state parks in Tennessee within driving distance of Chattanooga. These are great options to explore on your elopement day and then head to Chattanooga afterwards for a celebration. There are plenty of parks within 2 hours of Chattanooga. A popular one is Fall Creek Falls State Park which is just over an hour from Chattanooga!

Chattanooga Elopement Celebrations

Downtown Chattanooga is the perfect place to spend time exploring or celebrating your new marriage. From breweries to local food options, or great places to hang out- you can’t go wrong anywhere!

One of my favorite breweries for food, drinks, great vibes and the perfect backdrop for photos is Oddstory brewing. They have 2 different locations, both have fun and unique vibes depending on what you are looking for! This is a great place to stop by just the two of you, or invite friends and family and rent out the place for a post-elopement celebration!

My favorite brunch spot is Ruby Sunshine. This is a great spot to stop by to fuel up for an epic elopement day hike, or celebrate after a sunrise elopement. They have great drinks, mimosa flights, boozy coffee and delicious french toast bites!

Looking for a cute cafe with ready to go pastries to bring along on your elopement day for snacking? Bread and Butter has pastries TO DIE FOR! These are perfect to bring along for a picnic or just to provide a sugar rush to keep you energized all day long.

I love finding new places and sending all of my clients customized recommendation lists based on the area they are eloping and their preferences! No matter what you love doing and exploring, I’ll send over great recommendations to make your stay perfect!
