Tennessee is an incredible place to elope because there are so many options! You can get married at a waterfall, lake, in the mountains, in the woods, in a canyon, in a field of wildflowers, or in the city. It’s all based on your preferences as a couple! I have endless location knowledge available to you as your photographer based on guest list, preferences, privacy, and activities. The perfect location is out there for you and I will help you find it! Here are some popular requests for elopement locations:
Mountains
Eastern Tennessee is known for beautiful mountain views! There are overlooks you can drive up to or hikes you can do for a more adventurous and secluded view. You have the Smoky Mountains National Park that give spectacular views and backdrops for your elopement.
Some of my favorites are Lookout Mountain, Foothills Parkway, Roan Mountain, and there are so many more!
Cities
Tennessee has unique and beautiful cities that make great elopement backdrops. There is so much history in these cities which provides endless location and variety for your adventure elopement. For those wanting a lot of options, this is a great option for you! Have dinner in the city, get married in a park, and explore town after. Not only is the city great for your elopement backdrop, but there is endless entertainment with country bars and new and upcoming singers in Nashville!
Some great options are Nashville, Chattanooga, Gatlinburg and Knoxville!
Lakes
There are so many lakes throughout Tennessee that it’s easy to find some privacy, especially on a weekday, to have an intimate elopement. Lakes also offer so many great opportunities for adventure! You can camp, hike, swim, jetski, boat, or paddle board! It’s a beautiful place for a ceremony and a great option to adventure before and after your ceremony. Find a lake with blue water or with a mountain backdrop for an epic elopement.
Some great lake options are Douglas Lake, Chilhowee Lake, Nickajack Lake, and Dale Hollow Lake. They are spread throughout the state so no matter what you are looking for in your stay and activities, there is most likely a great lake nearby to explore!
Waterfalls
TN has over 500 waterfalls! So many to choose from! There are some that you have to hike to and some that are less strenuous. Waterfalls are great options to keep cool at a summer wedding or they can be a beautiful icy backdrop in the winter if the temperature drops enough!
My favorites are Falls Creek Falls and Burgess Falls however these tend to be busy since they are at State Parks! There are lots of waterfalls throughout the Smoky Mountains including Abraham Falls and Laurel Falls which can be a little less crowded. Some other great options closer to Chattanooga are Lula Lake and Ozone Falls.
I have visited and scouted all of these locations (and more!) and if not, I will pack my bag and head out to scout locations for you! I want to work with you to make your wildest and adventurous elopement dreams come true! See: The Ultimate Tennessee Elopement Guide for more Elopement information!
