Georgia Adventure Elopement Ideas

Stuck on what to do for your adventure elopement? Georgia offers a wide variety of landscapes and experiences, perfect for an adventurous elopement.

Hi, I’m Jenna! I’m a coffee obsessed adventure finder, water lover, reader, and epic photo taker. I’m not just a photographer. I’m here to be your planner, guide AND adventure buddy. I’m here to tell the story of your wedding day– from the crazy fun adventure filled moments to the quiet in-between moments and the endless love you share.

Georgia is the perfect place for your adventure elopement because it has such a wide variety of offerings between the mountains, lakes, caves and beaches! Depending on your interests and the location of your elopement, you might consider the following activities:

Mountain Adventures:

  1. Hiking: Explore trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains or the Appalachian Trail for breathtaking views and secluded spots.
  2. Waterfalls: Visit Amicalola Falls, Tallulah Gorge, or my secret spots for stunning natural backdrops.
  3. Camping: Consider a cozy camping experience in the wilderness or glamping at a beautiful campground. State Parks like Red Top Mountain and Cloudland Canyon offer yurt rentals if glamping is more your thing. You can also backpack to the top of a mountain and primitive camp if you are looking for a true adventure. Some great places for primitive camping are Preacher’s Rock and other spots along the Appalachian Trail.

Water Adventures:

  1. Beachfront Ceremony: Have a romantic ceremony on the sandy shores of Tybee Island or Jekyll Island followed by a beach picnic celebration. You can also have a beach picnic adventure at a nearby lake such as Lake Blue Ridge or Lake Alatoona.
  2. Kayaking or Paddleboarding: Enjoy a serene paddle on the waters or explore estuaries and marshlands near the ocean. You can also paddle on one of Georgia’s many lakes and rivers if you are looking for a calmer paddle out in nature!
  3. Sailing: set cruise on a sunset sailing tour out on open waters with your favorite beverage. This doesn’t necessarily mean a sail boat! You can also rent a motorized boat to drive around and enjoy the lake or ocean!

Epic Adventures:

  1. Hot Air Balloon Ride: Experience a sunrise or sunset balloon ride for a truly memorable view. There are quite a few options in metro Atlanta and North Georgia for this!
  2. Caving or Spelunking: Explore the fascinating caves in the area, like those in Ellijay or the Great Seal Cave. If you are new to this but still wanting an epic adventure, hire a tour guide to assist you with this adventure!
  3. Off-roading: rent a 4 wheel-drive car or bring your own and go off-roading for a fun new adventure. There are lots of locations to explore while off-roading that can lead to epic ceremony locations without hiking!

Romantic Activities:

  1. Picnic: Plan a romantic picnic at a scenic spot, complete with your favorite foods and perhaps a celebratory bottle of champagne. You can also order a charcuterie board ahead of time or bring your cake to enjoy while out in nature!
  2. Stargazing: Find a quiet spot away from city lights to enjoy a night under the stars. There are lots of great options in both North and South Georgia for this!
  3. Vineyard Tours: Visit wineries in regions like North Georgia or the Dahlonega area for wine tastings and scenic views.

I’m here to help plan these adventures into your elopement schedule so you can fully enjoy each experience without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Each of these options will add a unique and memorable touch to your special day!
