Eloping in Georgia
H + A reached out to me about eloping in Georgia about 10 days before their elopement day. They originally planned on a small courthouse wedding in their hometown before having their honeymoon in Blue Ridge. When thinking about their wedding, they came to the realization that they should combine their wedding and honeymoon and started researching Blue Ridge elopement photographers. That’s when they found me, and we were able to work together in a short amount of time to plan the elopement day they’d been dreaming of!
The Planning Phase
H + A knew they wanted a Blue Ridge elopement. They wanted to explore vineyards, downtown Blue Ridge and wanted a relaxing day with incredible views. After looking at my Georgia Elopement Photographer website, my blog on best places to elope in Georgia, and my instagram, they knew exactly where they wanted their ceremony.

We hopped on a consult call and they shared their vision for eloping in Georgia. They wanted a lakeside ceremony with mountain views before heading to downtown Blue Ridge to explore and celebrate. I knew the perfect place for their ceremony and we discussed timelines and vendors. After our call, I sent over my fully vetted vendor recommendations and they got to work planning.

With my vendor recommendations, H + A were able to find an officiant, florist, and baker all available to assist in their elopement day. Since they were planning a courthouse wedding, they already had their attire and rings ready to go! We finalized our timeline and started counting down to the big day!

Eloping in Georgia – The Ceremony
It was finally time for their elopement day! We all met at the lake where they would have their ceremony. We found the perfect spot along the rocky shoreline and they vowed their love to each other with a beautiful lake and mountain backdrop. It was a cloudy day and as the officiant prayed over them, the sun came out, shining bright for their new marriage.

After eloping in Georgia, they took some time to enjoy each other’s company soaking in the newlywed bliss and the beautiful views. They had some portraits taken at their ceremony location and made sure to get detail shots of the jewelry they wore that held special meaning to them.
After signing their marriage license, they wanted to pop champagne in celebration! They had fun and shared laughs popping and sipping on champagne. They had saved each cork from every bottle they had shared during their relationship. After accidentally popping the cork into the lake, we were able to retrieve it using a stick and some long arms so they could also save their wedding day cork for a memory.

The Celebration
After their lakeside ceremony, we headed to downtown Blue Ridge for their celebration. They first headed to the courthouse to hand in their marriage license. They stopped for some photos on the courthouse steps and were congratulated by everyone around!

After passing in their marriage license, they walked around downtown Blue Ridge stopping to take photos here and there. Once they had thoroughly enjoyed walking around and seeing what Blue Ridge has to offer, they headed to The Sweet Shoppe to pick up their wedding cake and stopped to rehydrate!

From there, they decided to head to a local vineyard to sip some wine and relax. We headed to Bearclaw Vineyards where they sat by a fire to warm up while a Spring shower passed. They enjoyed time alone sipping on wine, talking and enjoying their quality time together.

After relaxing and trying lots of great wine, they were ready to cut their cake and enjoy it. By then, the rain had passed and the sun was shining again as they explored the grape vines and all the vineyard had to offer.

As their elopement day came to an end, they reflected on how much they enjoyed it. It was all they had wanted- filled with intention, privacy, and stress-free. This was the exact reason why they decided to elope, and they were so happy with how it came together in such a short amount of time. “Today was exactly what we were looking for” – H + A
